Category Archives: WHERE TO EAT

My husband and I both love great food, and are always on the lookout for special ‘eating out’ experiences that offer good value as well as varied gustatory delights. Unless otherwise noted in a specific article, the dollar/price ratings at the end of each commentary apply to a basic meal for one person, before tip and taxes (which at present are an additional 12% in British Columbia). And for anyone who may be wondering, the standard tipping practice in this part of the world is 15% of the total before tax, 20% for exceptional service.

PRICE RATINGS

$ – $10 or less
$$ – $11 – $24
$$$ – $25 – $50
$$$$ – over $50, but worth it!

I hope you will take pleasure in some of the best (but largely unadvertised and often unheralded) culinary delights to be found on Vancouver Island. Enjoy!
